Posted on December 15, 2025 By gaylascookbook_itw6oh

½ c. popcorn kernels
2 T. butter
1 ½ c. brown sugar
6 T. water

Pop 2 batches of popcorn. In a one-quart pan, combine the butter, brown sugar, and water. Stir and cook till it boils. Boil without stirring till it reaches the soft-ball stage. Test every 2 minutes. (Drop a little syrup into a cup of cold water. As soon as it will press together into a soft ball, remove from heat. Pour syrup over the popcorn, mixing to try to coat every kernel. When cool enough to handle, rub butter on hands and press into balls. Makes 15.
