½ c. softened butter
1 c. sugar
2 ½ c flour
1 t. baking soda
1 t. baking powder
1 t. cinnamon
1 ½ c. applesauce
¼ c. water
(optional: ½ c. raisins and/or ½ c. walnuts)
Cream butter and sugar. Sift flour, baking soda, baking powder, and cinnamon. Stir in half the flour. Stir in the applesauce and water. Beat in the rest of the flour (and raisins and walnuts, if using). Spread in oiled 9 x 13” pan. 30-35 minutes at 350. 15 servings. Frost with Lemon Frosting.
